Watching Out For Cubs
Almost made the mistake of shooting a sow with cubs last weekend. I watched her for at least 10 minutes at 100 yards before a cub finally appeared. Sure glad I was patient!- Elk59729

2020 Bull Moose Southwestern Montana
Just thought I would jump in and give my 2 cents. I've seen a lot of moose in the marsh next to the highway where beaver creek dumps into the Madison but with the campground nearby and lots of fisherman on the river it wouldn't be very safe if you are rifle hunting. Big jump in MT harvest numbers, 2016 to 2017. What's up?
I would definitely attribute that the increased harvest was due to heavy snow and cold in 2017 as well as the shoulder seasons.
