I'm sure G&F is working on double overtime trying to get ahead of this. Health dept. is running the show right now and they are only focused on health. $$ is not a concern and thought is "we will worry about that later". I think all will have an impact. Still undecided but running out of time.
The government offices where the applications are processed and tags are issued from may not be essential. I'm going to say their is going to be a hugh delay in that process. Plane flights ? I think a 50% decrease in NR applications. Undecided for me.
I was up there during the 911 event. Being stranded in the backcountry and not getting picked up was an adventure in itself. Everything turned out fine. Lot's of planning for you for a back-up plan. Good luck
I really enjoyed watching the series. It brought back memory's of my own Dall hunt 30 years ago. I have only hunted rams a few times in my life. The stress level on my hunts has been off the charts. Can't imagine having a health crisis thrown into the mix. Glad your OK and great job in putting...
I picked up my processed elk for the trip home to NY last fall. Unfortunately it wasn't all frozen hard. I packed it all into a coleman 150. Left enough space for dry ice on top. My thought is that cold moves down. It was very warm on the trip home which took 2 days. Was a little nervous for the...
You may want to check with the state wildlife agency's of states you will be passing trough on your trip. Many are cracking down on unprocessed game from CWD states. NY will gladly confiscate your meat and have you contribute to the state budget deficit.
Just wondered how this was working ? Do the nonresident W.W. need a nonresident tag donated or does the program allow an exception to use a resident tag ? How is the supply and demand ? thanks
I drew a unit that had a large chunk of this type of ownership last year. A grazing association owned a bunch of the checkerboard and a energy company had the same type of ownership. Both had a open to hunting policy unless otherwise marked. I talked to the land manager of the energy company by...
Thanks everyone. It's not really that big. It represents to me or us that an average hunter can travel across the country, spend some time studying maps and other aids and have a successful hunt. A special thanks to Randy and Leupold. I had won an awesome pair of bino's in last years giveaway...
I have hunted antelope there a couple of times. Want to give it a try with a crossbow and montana decoy. May try for a goat tag also. I just know if I don't then I'll wish I did. Where else can you do a antelope / elk combo. I think it will be a blast.
Feral horses, ESA, Fuel loads, etc, everything gets tied up and nothing is being accomplished. The whole system is drowning in bureaucracy. Enviro groups gathering wealth and power with their lawsuits. I'm thinking they just got sent a message.
I asked permission to hunt a property near me. The landowner was the nicest guy in the world, "hunt to your hearts content" was his reply. A couple of days later I was walking out to my truck with a fall turkey. The landowner came over a ripped me a new butt hole. His permission to hunt did not...
Randy, The Leupold bino's arrived today. I was so excited opening them. Made me feel like a little kid again. Thanks so much for all that you do,and thanks for making my Christmas special. Merry Christmas to you and your family. craig
Like a ton of other PP holders I'm looking at the Red Desert unit. Have been following it for many years and have taken antelope in that unit. It seems the biologists have been stating that the unit is under population objectives for many years and then substantially jump up the cow/calf tags...
