Light weight, compact, warm sleeping pad recommendations

Awesome, thanks for all the good info! Now all I have to do is decide which one to ask Mrs. Clause for...LOL.

Maybe or maybe NOT, passing on shoot able deer

I've struggled with this as well in the past...and I have come to this conclusion: It all depends what on what I want out of my hunting season. If I am purely hunting for the mature animal; then I have to be OK with tag soup. However, I have come to the realization that while I enjoy a nice...

Light weight, compact, warm sleeping pad recommendations

What's everyone using to fit this bill??? I am using my old closed cell foam mat, which I've had since the late 80's - as far as reasonable comfort and R-value, it works pretty good...But I really would like to improve the packed size factor (anyone that's used these know they are not compact)...

help me decide on new set of tires

That's what I'm talking about, they're a decent happy medium as far as noise IMO. Years ago I used to run the older style of BFG Mud TAs...now those were tires that would shut down the conversation!

help me decide on new set of tires

I've had good results with Coopers...currently running ST MAXX's on my 3/4 ton (10 ply). Great tires, they've gotten me through some of the nastiest gumbo you can imagine. BUT, you got to rotate them every 6 k or you'll regret not keeping up with that little task. Noise: Good God Man! Its...

Congrats on the sucessful hunts. Unfortunately, I did not find a bird... but man, it sure did feel good being out and about after a LONG winter!

    Spring bear in Montana

I didn't even think about wasting fuel on bears...but I did go out chasing turkeys. ;)

    Spring bear in Montana

I agree with Greenhorn's comment on timing. I don't hunt that area, but further north - we just made plans to shift later due to the current snow pack. That's OK tho, more time for turkey along the river bottoms!

Any Western Zonz Users out there?

So this past weekend, we were at nearby high school for my 14 year old son's traveling basketball tournament. I was sitting there waiting for the game to start when I noticed a guy came in and sat down a couple rows below me in the bleachers. The camo jacket he had on caught my eye an right...

Anyone messing around with a Primary Arms Scope?

That mirrors what I have read, but I haven't actually talked to anyone that has used them. I'm a little concered about getting confused by a different style of reticle, but I'm thinking it's early enough now that if I do get one; I'll have plenty of time over the summer to get used to it...

    Breaks

Another factor, IMO that comes into play in this situation (as described in initial post) is this: I hear this all the time from a lot of guys that make off hand comments about putting in for a unit forever (as I'm sure all you guys do too) they often disregard or forget that there may have...
