Cold weather fire kit?
Next time you open one of those plastic costco nut jars, keep the foil circle from the top. Really good to put those vaseline cotton balls on when you're starting a fire in the snow. It'll keep burning long enough to get wet tinder going. I keep a couple folded up in the fire kit.- Whip

ISO..Quality axe and hatchet
Yup. Love my GB small forest axe. I've had a few different ones over the years and this one is by far the best. Don't even mind hauling the weight around in my pack.- Whip

Antelope meat recipes?
In my house we love 'lope burger. Anything that isn't steaked is ground with 15% pork fat added. Salt and pepper and you've got the best hamburger steak on the planet. -

Montana Toad...
Drake, No, I won't be applying for a tag there again. Chances are I wouldn't draw it anyways, and there's other areas that are less well known that offer equal chances for a big bull. I'm a meat hunter though, and that area offers excellent opportunities for a cow hunter...might be putting in... -

It's all good, and I've even learned a thing or three about how to avoid other hunters. It was a great experience through and through and I met a lot of nice folks that'll be friends for years. I'm still shaking my head at some of the things I saw other hunters do though, not a one of them... -

Thanks for all the kind words and support guys. Don't worry, my wife is not going to divorce me. We've made it this far and survived lots worse circumstances...and I'll gladly do anything she wants after season as she's basically said "go for it, it's your dream" since the get go...she's a great...
