FS Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide HD 10x42 binoculars

I'm selling these because I won a pair of Vortex Razor HD 10x42s at the live MeatEater podcast in Columbus. These binos have never been taken hunting and have seen very little use. Everything they came with is included. Caps, bino case, box, manual, neck tether. I'm asking $400. PM or text at...

Lost & Found In A Border Town

If you have the serial # and report the gun lost/stolen, the agency taking the report can enter the serial # into NCIC. If it's recovered, you'll be able to get it back.

    Family Camping

If BWCA is a bucket list item, try out Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. It has a very similar landscape to BWCA and is just an incredibly beautiful landscape and the fishing is incredible. 8 hours from State College, PA.

Opinions? Stone Glacier vs MR vs Kuiu

I just purchased my first Stone Glacier pack, a Solo 3300. I love it. It's the most comfortable pack I've ever worn and the craftsmanship is top tier. All of their bags and frames are interchangeable so I really like that aspect. Look at the used market if you want to lessen the financial...

Tips for getting in shape for backcountry

Lots of good tips here for workouts. Depending on your physique, you will probably want to drop some body fat. Cut out all alcohol and limit complex carbohydrates. If I need to drop weight then I'll cut out all booze and eat a Whole30 diet, which is basically all meat and vegetables. This...

High end all black hunting boots.

I receive a uniform allowance for work every three years. I can buy boots with this allowance so I was thinking about purchasing a pair of boots that I can wear hunting. The one caveat is that they have to be all black leather. Even the eyelets have to be black. I'm looking for a pair that I...

    On X Maps question

My issue was on a Nexus 6P and the GPS just would not work. Not with any app. I'm not sure what the issue was there. I had even downloaded maps. I'm going to buy the chip for my state and check out the phone app as well. Thanks for the comments.

    On X Maps question

I have had my phone GPS completely fail me in the past and am hesitant to trust a phone GPS again in the future. I'd much rather have satellite imagery on my dedicated GPS unit.

    On X Maps question

I just purchased my first GPS, a Garmin Oregon 650t. I've been looking at upgrading maps on the device. What I really want is satellite imagery but I refuse to pay a subscription fee from Garmin. Do On X Maps have a satellite imagery layer for GPS devices? I know they do for phones but I wasn't...

    Keeping and edge...

I use a Spyderco Sharpmaker to sharpen all of my knives, kitchen and field. I follow up the Sharpmaker with a leather strop. Having never killed anything larger than a whitetail, I've never needed to touch up a blade in the field.

Oh well, I tried. Guess non resident hunters don't need any help!

I learned from a young age to "Do a good turn daily." Windymtnman, it seems as though you are the embodiment of that slogan.

    Quiver suggestions

I'm also in the market for a quiver and was looking at the Tight Spot. What features make it worth the obscene price tag?

    Muskrats - It's what's for dinner

I love to see posts like this. I'm a big proponent of "non-traditional" table fare. Beaver is excellent, especially the back straps. I liken beaver back straps to dry aged beef. Porcupine is surprisingly good as well. I may have to bust out some traps next year and get into some muskrats. I...
