FS - Mystery Ranch Pintler Foliage Large

I’m selling my Mystery Ranch Pintler. It’s the Foliage color, size Large. This pack has been on several trips, but has seen no blood, and has no rips or tears. All Velcro strap shorteners (except the top to frame ones, not sure they came original) are still attached. Great bag in great shape...

I am now officially on the MR train!!

I've got a pintler which I took on several hunting /backpacking trips over the last year. I liked it so much I got my fiance to get a MR pack too. We now also have 2 of their mission duffels (the best travel bags I have ever had) and am even rocking their briefcase for work. I love their...

    Favorite truck accessories?

lots of good pieces of equipment already mentioned, so I'll chime in with one I didn't see but I love having: an on-board air compressor. It's great to air down when off pavement (better tire wear & grip), and if you need air for a flat tire, or you are lazy or short of breath and want to get...

Utah continues push to eliminate public land

If he likes Illinois so much he can switch places with me. I'm moving out of this terrible state specifically BECAUSE of lack of access. What an idiot.

Back country solar? Or battery pack? Or both?

depends on how long you'll be afield and clearly the expected sunshine. If it's a week and sunny I saw bring both, if only a few days just an anker.

My idea for the ultimate western rifle

I just want to point out how excited I was that the first 3 rifle photos were LEFT handed. As a fellow southpaw that made me smile!

    Hunting Boots

I picked up a pair of lowas and love them, but did so back in February. If you're talking about picking up boots for a hunt in a few weeks / month, be mentally prepared to have torn up feet. Proper boots need 40-50 miles of hike to break in properly. My best advice is to stock up on lukotape.

    Trailhead etiquette?

I've been doing desktop research for months on an area I'm excited about getting into in Idaho for rifle season in 3 weeks. It's a remote area only a few miles from capital W wilderness and will require my group to cross a creek with waders before getting onto a trail that runs with a...

    Topo maps

for paper maps, I've heard good things about Omni maps, so I've ordered (first time) with them. I also have onxmaps and really like what they've recently done with their app. Well worth the money. I also have an inreach explorer+. If I still get lost in the woods I guess I deserve to...

    Salmon idaho area-smoke issues?

That's good to hear! I'm heading out to unit 28 in 3 weeks and have been worried about smoke and visibility. I've got a B tag and a wolf tag burning a hole in my pocket, and I was hoping the fires wouldn't be the reason I came up short. Thank you for the report!!

Feelings toward "let's go kill $h!-"

one thing to consider, perhaps in this scenario but certainly in others, is that when you are speaking with lesser hunters, and by that I mean that you are the most knowledgeable or experienced person in the conversation, the other people may be trying to "speak your language" because they are...
