The Big Snip - How bad is it?

Best thing I ever did. My wife is a Nurse Practitioner who sometimes shared her office with the hospital urologist that performed mine. We all joked throughout the brief procedure. All (including recovery) at most mildly discomforting. Took it easy for a day, no worries.

    Hot off the press

Wow. How is the fit and finish? Let us know how it performs, the move to Wyo Wow. How is the fit and finish? Let us know how it performs, the move to Wyoming has peaked my interest in the Roy's. A guy in elk camp last year had a Mark V ultra lightweight in 30-06, it was very nice.

    Clothing question

Try BlackOvis Merino, good price. This year's successful Elk hunt showed me that while merino is great, it does get and stay clammy during periods of high exertion. In the future I may try synthetics again. The Kuiu Peloton 97 zip-off bottoms look promising, with the ability to add/remove...

    M77 .280 rem. Gift

After the Apocalypse roaches and Ruger Boat Paddle rifles will still be with us. They are simple, rugged, and reliable rifles and mine in .308 will do under an inch at 100 yards with 165 grain Accubonds.

Rifle shooting tips that helped you the most

I like to squirrel hunt with my scoped CZ 452. Small, frequently moving targets from field positions, I think its wonderful practice.

Critique my clothing: Montana, November, Units 324/330

Jason Hairston offered to sell me some limited edition KUIU boxers knitted from Land Tawney's stolen beard trimmings but I turned him down. Seriously though, I'm not a fan of UA, but those pants fit great. So far, I'm very impressed with BO merino; time will tell.

How do you carry your ammo?

Last hunt I used an AGC bino harness which has room for six cartridges in the front pouch. Twelve more in the pack. What say you?

    Dirtbag Rifles...let's see 'em

Post your Dirtbag Rifles! Those rifles that may not be pretty, but reliably get the job done. Here's mine: Ruger M77 MKII .308 stainless/boat paddle stock in .308 with a Leupold M8 4x. Killed an elk in 2002 and would have in 2016 but for operator error. Its intended replacement, a Nosler 48...

    Yeti & NRA

I view the NRA as a once proud organization of Sportsmen, Marksmen, and Collectors that has devolved into the paranoia-peddling marketing wing of the firearms industry.
