I would have no hesitation hunting elk with 7-08. The only reason I went Creedmoor over that for my Superlite is the factory ammo availability, but I still fully intend to wind up with one in 7-08 soon and that would be my go-to elk gun for days I expect to hike a bunch and don't want to lug...
Regulation costs aren't just the price of the permit, it's the engineering and construction costs to build to the regulatory standard. So yes, materials went up, but the bill of materials is what it is because everything has to be so over-engineered.
The only reason it's so expensive is because of the extraordinarily high regulatory requirements relative to other forms of energy and the NIMBYism that is on prominent display in this thread.
Sorry if it’s been mentioned, but one addition I would propose is the addition of a small number of LE mule deer permits for the rut in all the current general areas. Like 50 per HD or maybe even less. It would spread out the bonus points and allow a few people to hunt dumb bucks but...
They said that there was an error in my trust paperwork that should have been caught - I was the beneficiary as well as the trustee and apparently that’s not ok. They said they can resubmit with corrected paperwork and request an expedite because it shouldn’t have been disapproved for that...
Just received notice of disapproval for my Form 4 Trust submitted 1/4/24. The stated reason was "Individual can not be all 3 grantor, trustee, and beneficiary." I ordered from Capitol Armory and had them create the trust; I would have thought their template would be solid. Anyone else dealt...

The storage standards for Yucca mountain show how it's just about impossible to meet an acceptable storage standard. The court ruled the EPA's compliance standard of 10,000 years was too short, and that they needed to comply...
Actually read about 3 Mile Island. The worst nuclear disaster on US soil killed zero people and exposed the population in the surrounding area to radiation levels equivalent to a chest x-ray. If we've learned anything since then, I'd expect additional safety measures and redundancy so future...
It's been 10 years since I changed the oil in a car without drinking a beer; must be a miracle they're all still on the road. When I tiled my kitchen with no previous experience, I was taking a drink every time I got up to mix some more mortar. Still turned out better than most "professional"...
I used the same word for a long time until I got it in one; then figured that word was used up and have been switching around since. Currently use AUDIO but I'm not in love with it and have a hard time coming up with good second guesses.
