Wild plant propagation, legal ? Wyoming

So, I went hiking today with the dogs to look for areas to hunt near the house and ran across a patch of wild raspberries.

I was curious, if it is legal to go back in October and take some cuttings to propagate them into the backyard garden. I marked the location regardless, because if there is fruit in October then it would be a worthwhile grouse hunting hike. I was just curious, because I found zero information about it online about the legality and collecting wild flora and transporting it to the backyard.

Do not know about WY but you can get "wildings permits" from USDA-FS at times. I have dug up aspens & other plants.
I have one raspberry that has taken & is now a small patch. Lost all the aspens.
Does WY have a state forestry dept.? NMDF sells natives online in sales to pick up in fall & spring.

Depends on who administers the land. Forest Service would probably issue you a permit if you’re talking just a few cuttings for personal use. People removing plants is a huge problem in some areas though. I talked to a biologist once from Saguaro or somewhere who was trying to figure out how he could PIT tag cactus because people were stealing so many that it was threatening the area’s cactus population.

You would need a permit to remove plants from public land but I can't imagine needing one for cuttings.
