We were up on the Columbia over the weekend visiting friends in Camas (WA side) and I guess a train hit a herd of elk down on the tracks in the gorge just east of there. Evidently 20-30 of them killed.

Have seen that with antelope before but never with elk. What a waste.

Very sad story. This happend a couple of miles from my house, we see this herd almost every day. Crazy that he hit 24, only way I can see that happening is they got caught in one of the tunnels. I did see a lone survivor yesterday.
