Virginia Bear Hunt

Looking to do an on your own bear hunt in Virginia this fall. I live in NC so just about all of
Va is within three or four hours. Anybody got any suggestions on good spots?

Surrounding national forest land around Shenandoah national park has prob the highest bear populations in VA. Check out the stats on the game departments website some good information on there. Also some very good deer hunting in those surrounding counties up there.

Everyone I know goes to NC to hunt bears

Lots of public land (and bears) in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests...
Lots of campgrounds and cabins that are very hunter friendly.
