Ok, I've done a lot of extended camping trips. But this next month will be my first multi-week camping trip, while staying in one location, in CO. Also, we're hiking into our camping area.

So my question is, does anyone setup tarps in their camp? And which areas do you set them up in. I'm thinking 9x12 tarp for the tent and cooking area, then maybe a smaller one for the privy area.

Is this over kill? We'll be in the woods for 2.5 weeks.

Ideas, sugestions, thoughts please..

Should be fine. If you get some misty weather you will appreciate somewhere out of the drips that you can stand up.

if weight isn't a issue tarp cover is nice some times, just secure it good for winds

Better check the regulations....I don't think you are legally allowed to keep a camp in the same spot for more than 14 days (Not sure on the exact time). The fine is probably pretty big.
