it was a quintessential colorado mountain merriam jaunt - 9.6 miles, 3,000 feet, like 300-400 elk seen splattered on various private properties, two blue grouse heart attacks, bear shit, illegal sheds, and no audible or visual sign of public land merriams.

Last weekend wrapped up the Big Sky Region Rodeo year for the nine teams competing. Montana State University Rodeo both Women's and Men's teams placed first in the Big Sky Region. Twelve MSU cowboys and cowgirls qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo coming up later in Casper, WY, including grandson Bode, who is center in the photo holding the championship plaque.
