Maine bear

I'm going to be in Maine hunting moose in WMD 2 with a buddy in October. Since we are going to be 1900 miles from home, we're thinking about tagging on a black bear hunt with hounds after the moose hunt, which we can buy otc. I realize this is not a DIY hunt, but given the circumstances (my lack of bear hounds, distance from home, blah blah blah) we are looking for a guide/outfitter to hook up with. Anyone have any contacts or recommendations? Thanks!

Don't know about hound hunting but it is legal to trap bears in Maine if that trips your trigger.

Theres not too many guys that use hounds.Search the net and talk with past customers.Just be prepared to take a 125-150lb bear.Bigger are taken but their average is pretty small
