Leupold VX5HD Vs VX6HD

I know these are great scopes but will some please explain the difference between a VX5HD 3-15x44 with the Fire Dot Reticle and the VX6HD 3-18x44 with the Fire Dot Reticle. What makes the VX6- 6 hundred dollars more besides the magnification? Is the glass that much better? Which ones would you guys chose if you were buying a new Leupold scope

Have the non HD6 2x10x44 and recently purchased the 5HD 3x15x44....no discernible difference to me. The focus wheel on the 5 gave me pause at first but not for long. Have not looked thru a 6HD....schmalts or Fin could expound.

Those damm firedots have spoiled the crap out'a me. My favorite rifle wears a lit up VXR...another sound Lupe alternative.
