Hunt a crappy unit or stay home

Had some health issues a three years back and couldn't elk hunt that season, hunt it!! I appreciate every hunt a little more now.

Wanted to get peoples thoughts on going on a late season cow elk hunt DYI or wait a year and go for a better unit? Should note I drew one of the tags I had hoped for just want to chase elk while I can

Don't know your location or situation but I'd lean towards hunting unless you have a lot of points for a better hunt in a couple of years. If you have some buddies who drew and you can go along with them it might take the sting away of not having a tag yourself. IMO more time in the woods during the season, even if you don't have a tag, will pay off big when you finally get that tag you want.
