Can anybody recommend a gunsmith nearish to Missoula? I need some stock work done and don't really know anything about any gunsmiths around here.

I've been very happy with my experiences at Bass' Gun Rack, and very unhappy with my experiences at accu-arms.

Check out Snowy Mountain Rifles. Only heard good things about the guys over there.

I had good experiences with Brainard Gunsmithing. Great work at reasonable prices and pretty fast turn around.

Matt Brainard is pretty good. I don't know if he makes stocks though.

X2 - I've seen their work and shot a couple of their builds and would not even hesitate in using them.

If some stock work is what you are looking for, call Coffin Gunsmithing in Victor. Dan does amazing work including custom wood stocks. No website, but I believe he is on facebook. mtmuley
