First of all, I've been looking at all of the deer that have been posted up but I haven't taken to the time to comment. Great job to everyone. Lot's of good looking animals. My 2016 big game season in Colorado is over. I hunted 1st season rifle. It was warm at first then a little snow came. More hunters than I've ever seen. I took a young 4x5 opening day about 11am. Next year might be the year I change tactics to get away from the hunters, even though I've killed 5 bulls in this area in the last 6 years.
I hunted RFW deer to burn my 8 points so I can start hunting my main unit 4th season each year. This is my first mule deer not off public land. It was an ok experience but not exactly my cup of tea. I probably could have held out for something bigger but I'm not much of a trophy hunter and this buck looked good to me. Now on to ice fishing and maybe some coyote or rabbit hunting.
