Last hour of the last day when you have a feeling in your gut that your freezer is going to remain empty.....it all comes together. I waited and passed many smaller bucks on my 5 day hunt hoping for my chance at a good one. The buck held tight in his bed while I sat less than 30 yards away.....waiting, knowing that deer get nervous if you sit and wait. He didn't show himself until I stood up to head back to the truck without a plan of where I would look next. Ended up with 135 lbs of meat cut and wrapped. Each backstrap weighed 15 lbs. The meat is tender and not gamey at all even though the taxidermist estimated age between 6 and 7 years old. I bet he's been chased a few times in his life. Blessed with a storybook experience and a beautiful Muley buck.
