I don't even know where to start...last week was great hunting! Spent 3 days hunting and filled my tags the first 2!
The sun was out so the muley bucks were in the shade of the rocks during mid-day. Elk were screaming from sunrise to sunset.
I ended up shooting my muley at 7 feet after passing him up at 5 yards earlier in the same day. I stalked him in his bed while he was bedded next to some rocks and shot him from straight above. He went 25 yards and tipped over. The 3 kickers on his left beam sealed the deal for me. Saw lots of bucks altogether.
Hunted elk morning and evenings. Saw lots of bulls, passed up quite a few. Ended up shooting my bull at 10 yards first set up one morning. Was calling in a 6 point for a friend and this guy ran in from the side, bugling and glunking and about ran me over. I cow called and stopped him and sent an arrow through him. He went about 80 yards and tipped over too.
I got tons of GoPro video and HDD video. Got video of a 350"+ bull at less than 20 yards, screaming and hooking a cow, the evening I shot my smaller bull. O-well...next year.
I could write a book about the 3 days but am going to keep it short. My gf watched me stalk and shoot my deer and I was hunting with my dad and a few friends when I shot my elk. It doesn't get much better than that!
