Boyd's or Stocky's Stocks
I am getting back into a set aside project, my Howa 1500 in 270 Win. I want to re-stock with a thumbhole. Boyd's and Stocky's both have thumbhole stocks but I like the Stocky's a bit more. I do not care for the cooling vents on the Boyd's and last contact with them is they will not produce it... -

Pillar bed Howa 1500
Here soon I am ordering a Boyds Thumbhole stock for my 270 Howa. I want to pillar and glass bed the action. I found a kit online from Score Hi gunsmith for the Howa and that is all. Those of you that did such a project what did you use for pillars ? Boyds does not as of yet offer anything... -

Has anyone filled the butt portion of their stock with foam or something else ? If so what did you use ? -

Yesterday I received my Howa 1500 in 270. Here soon I will put it together but I would like to know about the quality of the rings and 1 piece base that are included as part of the package. I will go with a Leupold or Redfield scope but should I go with Leupold base and rings. Thanks, Jerry -

270 Win barrel length
Question on barrel length, I like the Howa 1500, 22" bbl. with the Hogue stock. Weatherby Vanguard has a 24" bbl. it has a generic synthetic stock. The rifle will be used for Elk and Oryx, if a permit can be drawn. Also some 300 + yard hole punching. New Mexico will be the place of use. Any... -

Possible Coyote gun
I'm looking for a rifle for coyotes. Found a Savage Axis, 22-250, Camo stock, heavy barrel and a Bushnell 4 to 14 scope at my local WalMart for less than $400.00. Comments, please. Thanks, Jerry
