Thanks for chiming in on my post. As stated, I'm 43, married, with a teenage daughter. I've elk hunted in Colorado for 11 years. 10 on a private ranch that we lost the lease too about 5 years ago. I went out solo for one year but I base camped in a campground. I've done a couple overnighters but nothing major. I do backpack regularly mainly testing gear out and trying to get comfortable with my gear. My plan so far is to hunt unit 25 the OTC Flatt Tops region around Crescent Lake. There is an outfitter in that area that I believe will haul out an animal if we get one down.
Why don't you let me know a little about yourself and hopefully we can go from there.
