The reason the skull is in the creek was because we were going to be there a few more days and keeping it cold while cleaning it at camp. I said to myself, that looks pretty cool! 😁
I haven`t killed a bull in a few years, although I do make the 2500 mile drive every Sept from NC to MT, so I have had a few year dry spell since my last bull (2014). For the area we hunt, this one was pretty good. I`m guessing 320", but most of you guys know better than I do. The last bull I...
What area of NC are you from? I make the drive from NC to MT every Sept. There is some solid advice given. Expect about 3 days to acclimate to the altitude. Carry chapstick for your lips and nose. The humidity isn't in the 90%+ like it is here! Expect to continue to go once you've been...
Nicely done, and good looking buck!
Referring to pic#2, generally speaking, ladies seem to have a knack for breaking, ripping, or, shooting a hole right through a heart! Lol! Seriously though, perfect shot placement!
Not to sidetrack this thread, but I agree with the last statement of your post. Well, actually the entire post. But I've heard some dispute that running helps. I can say with 100% certainty that after getting into distance running, the time that it use to take me to acclimate to the altitude...
100% agree on your first two paragraphs! The odd part is, after about the second night of being awaken by screaming bulls, I just want to open the tent door and ask them to please SHUT UP! LOL!:ROFLMAO:
Where I set up camp, which elk are right above camp bugling all night, I've had elk within 60 yards of my tent the last two years. Just be careful on your camp set up, or how active you are around camp. Unless we're cold and wet, we don't even build a campfire.
This is strictly my personal...
Nice job! What was your time? Side Note: just finishing is an accomplishment!
Be careful, running marathons can get addictive! With the title of your thread, there's implications of more to come!
I've ran a couple, and will be in DC in two weekends to run the Marine Corps Marathon. Have...
Last year I had a similar situation. Hunting partner had to cancel his part of our elk hunt due to his house being in the path of a hurricane. Wife wasn't happy with me going alone. Then I introduced her to the InReach and sold her on all the features. Heck, she texted me the other day while...
...and it ALMOST worked!
Went on our annual elk hunt in MT, and were in elk everyday with no one in the entire drainage with us for the first couple days. Then on, I think, Tuesday, I hear the awfullest bugling that I've heard heading close to one of the bulls that we were after. My elk...
