heck Dave yes i enjoyed 54 . I didnt see many cows down there tons of bulls Dave do u ever go by the painters outpost i ran into a local named ron nice guy big help , his bro had a 54 tag and i heard he killed a 380 plus .heck im happy with 300 clas bulls , the bull i was after was a 340
I will like to look you up if im in the area , Im really shocked no action is being taken on this sow ,, but not surprised ,, this sow has just taught her cubs humans are easy to kill , and come sept when food is scarce she just might start hunting us humans in the park ,, To me it seems kind of strange she didnt bluff charge , she had cubs sows usually bluff charge , they dont want to leave there cubs for too long , plus this sow went out of her way and a long way , the threat was moving away from her ,, I almost think it was a combo attack also kill and feed on, I bet all the hikers were finally 2 ,much for this sow and she fled , louis

54 bull tags are super. we hunt reduced price cows in that area and know it well. We saw some pigs in there last year. Most of the biggest bulls were busted up by November but we did see a couple of nice 6x6's that were over 370 last year. We were helping an outfitter from Wapiti who had drawn the 54 (1) tag with his wife. He took a 380 and she passed up some super bulls until the last day and ended up with tag soup. I don't think she cared because she had a general season bull from a few years earlier that went 409. I think the large bulls may shortly become a thing of the past. Glad you found a honey hole in 50. Keep your lips sealed and it may be a sure thing for years to come. Those archery tags never sell out. 50 is not known for really large bulls but I did have a friend take a 7x7 by Tolman Mountain about 10 years ago.
