Planning my first trip to Wyoming this October to chase pronghorn. As it's our first time and we don't really know what to expect, I am planning plenty of hunting days in case things don't go exactly according to plan. That said, I'm wondering what suggestions you have for things to do if we tag out early. We will be near Buffalo the second week of October and don't mind driving a few hours in any direction. We'd be up for just about anything - upland hunting, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, etc.

not sure whats up around buffalo but i suggest looking over the antelope for a few days before pullin the trigger, take your time and enjoy all the antelope you bump into.

LOTS of good fishing and hiking just to the west of you in the Bighorns. The Beartooths might be a little far, but it's worth the drive if you have an extra day or two. The Beartooth Highway heading out of Red Lodge is one of the prettiest roads you'll ever find.

Not sure which direction you are coming from but the list of things to see is L O N G....Badlands, Rushmore, Custer State Park, Devils Tower, Yellowstone/ Teton Parks, Jackson Hole, Custer Battlefield, Cody Museum

The beautiful building and trailer are all part of the experience of an oilfield strip club.

I've been there, not bad if you don't mind a stripper at is in her mid-forties. At that age, it's a different kind of naked. I was 21 at the time and I wasn't on board, left within 10 min. :p

Independance rock and Martins Cove are pretty cool also. Martins cove has a visitors center that has some pretty cool stuff on display, including firearms. They are not far from Casper

I think we have a winner; martin's cove and Northern Dreams. Kind of a saints and sinners fantasy hunt...

Haha, sounds perfect. Thanks for the tips!

I think if you give us a little better idea what you are looking for you would get some great advice on specific options.

I know one that I'll throw out there is the wild sheep foundation in Cody is a fun visit. Hot springs in Thermopolis is really neat as well. If you want great fishing try the miracle mile SW of Casper.

If you are in Cody, stop by the Buffalo Bill museum also. More guns than Quaker has oats.

Guns at cody museum. Free hot springs (state run) at Thermopolis or pay for on of the bigger commercial operations.
Ride on the Queen from bridge bay on Yellowstone lake in YN park. Plus all the other regular attractions. But the traffic is heavy now.

Just punch in Buffalo Wyo. on the computer and get all the things you can see and do in and around Buffalo. still hoping to move there one day .

If you are heading through Thermopolis you might sit and soak in the hot springs. There is a pretty good wildlfe museum in one of the Thermop hotels and decent fishing that time of year. As mentioned above the Cody museum is also good. If you are a gambling man there is a casino just outside of Riverton. A buddy of mine won $150 on his 2nd "pull" on a slot machine there a couple weeks ago!
