Been hunting for a week now saw 3 spikes so far.Have really sore butt and hips from horses have averaged 14 miles a day on foot and horseback.Cant seem to find elk but seen tons of bighorns.

If spikes are around, there's probably other elk in the area too. Ditch the horses for a few hours and hike.
