I called in and took my biggest bird to date on the 2nd to last day of the WA season. Took over an hour to entice a small flock (2 hens and 3 big toms) to cross a creek and come my way, but when they did, it was an impressive sight with all 3 toms in full strut, gobbling their heads off!

I picked out the biggest one and shot it at 15 yards at 11am:

Stats:
Walla Walla County, WA
Rio Grande
10" beard (exactly)
1" spurs (exactly, both sides)
16 lbs (probably would have been much larger 6 weeks ago before breeding season)
84 degrees outside

Is this kind of talk allowed on the new site?

Almost quote worthy.:D:D:D

Boy. . .that really does sound bad doesn't it;) I had a B/C scorer do the measurements so I could submit it for the WA record book (I think anything over 8 1/2 gets in the book.

fetch, that is a nice westren bird. I have not seen to many that are longer then 10" out west. I shot one 2 years ago in SD and out of the 14 birds shot in our group I had the longest at 9.5"

Got to come east to get the big ones I think.
