Purple shells in the desert

Went out for a couple of hours yesterday and found some birds. 16ga GRIII Citori Superlite.

This time of year if you find cactus with fruit there will be quail nearby. Bill Ruger owned a large part of the mountains in the distance.

Feathers around bills are stained with the purple fruit they have been feeding on

The meat near the craw can be stained also. They taste better this time of year

Congrats on a good day or bird hunting Those little guys bring back memories of when I was in the 5th grade living in Tucson. I was a quail hunting fool with my daisy powerline.
