Need some advice about WY

This is my first year hunting WY and my friend and I are hunting blm land just west of casper. Just wondering what type of terrain I can plan on encountering. And if there is any good camping sites or do you just find a spot in the wilderness and camp. One other thing is we are going in october with are muzzleloaders and was wondering if there will be snow and big big of a day pack I should purchase to carry extra cloths just in case the weather turns bad. Thanks for your help.

I might have missed it in your post, but what are you hunting?

In October, expect anything from 80F+ to 10F and strong winds. Always expect strong winds.

How far west of Casper? Sounds like you are probably hunting deer or antelope, with that terrain, and season dates.

If you have some more details, I think guys here can give you some good advice.

I will be hunting mule deer. The area my friend and I got drawn for runs south of casper along 220 down to Rawlins and then northwest to the Bridger Teton National Forest. The Northern edge of the area is hwy 20.
