My Pheasant Season

Pheasant season has been over for a few weeks now so I thought maybe it would be a good time to post some pictures. It was by far the best season I've had in a long time, not because I bagged a lot of roosters, but because I did a lot of the hunts with my daughters who are 8 and 10, and I saw how much they enjoyed being out. Whether we brought home any birds or not it was a great time. Not to mention we did it all on our own.

Here's my 4-year old son. He loves watching me clean the birds.

Gotta check out the eyes too.

He can't wait till he can bag a few of his own I'm sure.

And of course the coolest part of all...the feet!

We've got a couple of more weeks here in KS. Last weekend we gathered enough hunters to walk 2 mile X 2 mile square CRP fields and had very good luck. About 20 of us got 53 cocks on Saturday and 6 of us got 21 cocks on Sunday. Fun days in the field.

Wow, that sounds like a blast! What is the limit per day per person there in KS?

Most of the good pheasant states have a limit of 3, but Kansas is 4 a day.
