This sucks. But they will come in from Pa. and WV eventually. Md. just dose not what to pay for them.
The Maryland Legislative Sportsman's Foundation announced today that the proposal to reintroduce Rocky Mountain elk into far western Maryland has been abandoned.

They pretty much did the same thing in western VA. man but after the animals kept coming across from KY. and looking at the $$$ KY. was pulling in it seemed to change thier minds pretty quickly. Bet MD. does the same over time.

I agree it sucks. They were native to the area and belong here. What really gets me is the decision was made without the completion of a habitat study. This was stopped for no good reason. Politics, the Farm Bureau, and citizens fearing vehicle collisions, won. Like I said, no good reason.
