Hello from Pearland, TX (just south of Houston). I frequently use the forum & decided it was time to join. I have hunted whitetails for decades, mainly in South & --recently-- West Texas, mostly on private land, but have taken a few deer in Public Lands. Hope to expand my hunting adventures into Elk & other big game. Looking forward to learning the in's & out's of hunting in the west from this community.

Welcome from El Paso! I've hunted south texas quite a bit. Same here looking to expand to other big game. I was going to go for an OTC in colorado this year, but I pulled a muley tag for new mexico. I know west texas has elk, but I think they are all on private land. There is supposedly two wild herds that migrate south from the carlsbad new mexico area, but never seen any.
