I have seen in previous threads that the Garmin 62st is well thought of. I had an old eTrex that finally kicked the bucket and am looking to replace. I am not a really heavy GPS user but want something that will have the expandability capability at a decent price. My questions are: Are there any glaring limitations I should knowabout and is +- $250 a good deal on this unit? Thanks for input!!

That sounds like a decent price. If I remember correctly the only difference between the 62s and the 62st is that the 62st comes with preloaded 100K topo maps of the lower 48 states. If that isn't much use to you because you plan on using OnXmap chips or if you already have 100K topo maps to load on it then you might look for the 62s instead. I think I've seen a 62s for $199.99 somewhere.

They are cheaper now because the 64's are out.

I picked up a 62s for $199 from Cabelas earlier this summer. I remember seeing a 62st for about $250 after I purchased the 62s.

I have the 62s and have been very happy with it. The st is around 300 if you saw it for 250 I'd grab it. Just make sure it New and not a recon.....

I got the 62S for $230 (didn't see any use in the pre-loaded 100k maps) but have seen it on sale occasionally for $200 from Sportsman's and Cabelas. I like it a bunch.
