Fighting the Good Fight!
How sweet it is to be young, to dream the dream, to live the dream, to run the hounds, and yes, to catch the bears.
The Wolf Pack bayed this ole boar up on the south side of the Book Cliffs, after a hard rig out on top. Those four hounds bayed, ran, treed, and fought this ole boy from daylight until midnight, then the males dropped out followed by the two females. I was in to him twice and had trouble stayin in the run.
That's a dry region with an occasional spring and the hounds pay for their time in the sun with ole Slough Foot! They get pretty dehydrated if you don't go pull'em off the bear, and are ususally done for a few days.....but they do live to fight the good fight, and fight they do.
