We saw lots of elephant again this trip and saw probably over 1000 buffalo. There was herds every where we turned. I think the coolest part of the whole Kruger trip was sitting on the road and watching a herd of about 200-250 buff walk all around the car. There was some absolutely stunning bulls in the bunch.

I had been to Africa a number of times before I took a side trip to an NP. Had wrong headed feeling from too many nature shows on TV that animals would not act or be natural and besides I am a hunter not a looker. Dumb!!!
Spent some time in Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire NP's in Tanzania in Sept, 2006. WOW!! Animals just ignore Photo Safaris as tho they were part of environment and conduct their daily business. Saw 100+lb elles, Cape Buffalo that pushed 50", Black Rhino, Lions breeding and a cheetah kill. Everyone should do an NP photo safari!!
