Coyote question

I was able to get out a little for turkey huntin after the rain stopped. Well I had a couple of coyotes run by me and I took a couple shots. I got a couple pellets in one but never found anything but fur. Will my shooting at them pretty much keep them away from where I was?

Would it you? If you shot me in the butt with #5s I wouldn't come by either. But, when my boy Travo and I would hunt a certain Highline for Crows the same Coyote would run by.....fast. Must have seen and missed him 2 or 3 times. Go figure. John
