Clear Rustoleum on Antlers

The crock-pot idea worked, and now I was wanting to spray the antlers with a clear spray to protect and give it a nice finish. I have some crystal clear rustoleum I was going to spray on it. Has anyone used this before and would it be safe to do without hurting the antlers? Thanks!! Have a great day!!

I would not do it. I have mounts that are 55 years old and look like the day I did them.

You can spray the skull if you want, but use something that won’t yellow over time. Don’t spray the antlers. I’ve seen a lot of antlers that people have sprayed, and IMO they have an unnatural looking color, finish and texture that’s just weird. It isn’t necessary anyway. They’ll stay just fine if they aren’t outside exposed to the elements.

Use mop and glo on the skull. Easy to wipe dust off of it also.
