Last Saturday was decently warm here in Western South Dakota so I took the two oldest boys out to chase rabbits.

Each of the boys shoot Henry lever .22's. Over 3 hours of walking the rolling prairie we jumped 4 jackrabbits that escaped unscathed. The boys sure had fun trying though.

On the way back we stopped by some old homesteads known to hold cottontails and each son got one. One however, flopped down it's hole out of reach.

Here's the trophy. Mmmm. Tastes like chicken.

We used to hunt cottontails during a hard freeze back in my hometown T. Season/flour them, fry em up...tasted better than chicken.

..nice picture, thanks.
