Got an annealing machine (uses propane gas torch) and trying to figure out if it's worth going lower flame or if it's worth going hot and fast. It's my understanding that smaller cartridges that maybe fast is better to keep the whole case cooler but with larger cases slower might not be that big of a deal.

Theories on which is better...low & slow or hot and fast? (assuming the correct temp is reached regardless)

I have that stuff

The thought was hotter flame but fast or lower flame but slow?
Faster is gooder. You don’t want the case head any hotter than it has to be. A slow heat gives the brass more time to heat up thru heat transferring down the case.

Goal should be consistency. Point the flame where the neck meets the shoulder. The flame will envelop the whole neck. Start the cycling to new brass process when getting the lip of the neck to just start to turn a dull red. Dim the lights and watch, set the timer accordingly.

Faster makes sense because of what @Addicting said. Plus the obvious- faster takes less time. If you put the tempilaq down the test case a ways you can see how far down the heat goes.
