Has anyone read Tony Russ's Bear Hunting in Alaska book? Is it worth buying? I have his sheep book and like it. I would think the bear book would be of similar value, since I would like to do a grizzly hunt sometime either in AK or the Yukon. Anyone have any experience, advice, or recomendations on booking a grizzly hunt in either of these places?

I'll have to go see which Bear Books I have, if I can find them behind all the other crap my wife buys--the name doesn't ring a bell though--but hey not much rings in my bell these days anyway----chris

Tony sent me his book right after publishing. I've skimmed through it off an on and it is very similar to his sheep books. There are chapters on gear recommendations, food, skinning, habitat, hunting, yatta, yatta yatta. There isn't any info on black bear hunting; grizz and brown bear only. He tends to discuss more about hunting the Peninsula and Kodiak. There is some info on interior grizz and SE AK brownies.

The book is worth the money...especially if you go the paperback route.
