    Sun and Bug shirt

There are a lot of great sun shirts out there. One of my favs is the mountain Hardwear crater lake. Since you list bug protection the Sitka Equinox guard system is well thought out and effective in my experience. You could also spray you clothes with Permethrin as well.

Ditty Bags for Misc Items Organization

I have some stuff from Hilltop and they make good stuff. I spent the extra money for the design on my food bag and tent stakes cause I thought it was humorous. Generally speaking a bag is a bag though I am picky on my food bag.

    Hip waders

I have used the Chota "Hippies" for a long time and really like them. They are stocking foot so you can use your regular wading boots with them and they can be worn in a couple different configurations depending on depth.

What is your favorite mobile weather application?

General use forecasts I use Carrot set to Homicidal personality.

Trouble with GoHunt Maps and Apple Mouse

I use a trackpad on my Macs so I tested it on my Wife's as she uses the mouse. The both react the same. The zoom has stages or steps rather than being just a smooth zoom. I would prefer a smooth zoom experience. It is not really hard to use but it makes it so that one step could be too much and...

    Go hunt?

Yes GOHUNT has a wildfire layer. Checked CO and it goes to 2010

    GoHunt vs. OnX

Of interest to this may be that GM is killing both android auto and apple car play in favor of its own system. Rumor is that other companies are looking to do the same. They say it is because of user experience etc. I think it is because they are missing out on a bunch of data. Google helped...

    Smart Watch Recommendations

Depends on how much you want to spend and what you want it to do. I have used the Fenix series for years and really like my series 7. The battery last forever, connects to inreach, compass, altimeter, tough etc. several times it has warned me a storm was coming and it was correct. I have also...

    Maven optics

I have several pieces from Maven and really like them all. I upgraded from Votex Viper series binos and spotter to the B6 binos and S.1 spotter. I also added the S.2 spotter this year. Works great on a window mount.

    Maven optics

Last week one of the guys in the group had a pair of EL 10x42 I use B6 10x50. We did a good bit of comparing and even swapped one day. Anything I found better about them was very minor and to me definitely not worth the difference in price. We both preferred mine at last light but that is not...

    Colorado Unit 22, 21, 30,31, 32

Just got back from 1st rifle in these units, first time there. Stayed in 22 the whole time but all over it. Saw 1 spike and 1 2-3 point (hard to tell and did not get long to look) and around 15 cows. All very early in the morning and seemed to be going from feeding on private back up to bed with...

    iPhone 15 digiscope setup

Magview will work as you just stick the plate on any case. Have to wait on the Ollin till they get their 15 series cases out.

    Satelite cell phones?

Correct me if I am wrong on this. Currently you can not simply send messages using an iPhone over Sat. You can contact emergency services and you can share your location with contacts. So you can send your Wife etc you current location but not any messages. This may expand in the future and my...

    Range Finder

Honestly I would not recommend getting a RF without it. Not for hunting anyway. You may not need it on this hunt but the next one may. It is something that is just best to have.

    Range Finder

Vortex has the Crossfire in that price range. Never used it, I used to use a Ranger 1800 that may be similar and it was OK.

    Pillow help

I too hate blow up pillows, tried a lot of them. Some are not terrible but none are as good as the thermorest compressible pillow. Is it the smallest and lightest, no. Is it the most comfortable I have found, for sure. I use the large for truck camping and I bring the small for everything else...

    Puffy pants

I have and use Mountain Hardware Compressor, First Lite and Sitka 3/4 puffy pants. I prefer the First Lite to the MH for full length but it is not that big of a difference overall. If I am going to be packing the pants or wearing gaiters etc I go for the Sitka. I actually really like the 3/4...

    Permethrin?

Used it a ton when I lived in TX and sometimes in CO. Works great. Once it dries getting it wet is not the same as spraying it directly on you.

    GoHunt on an ipad

Hey Dave, thanks for the info on iPad optimization for the website. I checked it out and it does work well. Things seem bigger than needed at times like the layers flyout but it works. You need to tell the devs to quit putting the banner at the top to download the app when using iPad as it is...
