    Upside down fire

Lol being new here I admit…I’m a bit confused, but I’ll take it all positively! I’ve been a member of bushcraft USA forever and we might play with fire a bit more than the average person. I’ve only ever used nice dry wood for this fire lay, but people there have used wood gathered on site. I’m...

    Upside down fire

I’ve been doing lots of family camping and bonfires. The upside down fire lay is a game changer. It’s the crock pot of fire, set it and forget it. If your unfamiliar, rather than starting with tinder, then kindling in the middle, and fuel on top, you long cabin fuel logs on the bottom and stack...

Sure signs of summer in your area

When there is sun and the thermometer hits 60. Also being a teacher and not having to go to work

    Is less more?

I missed a lot of quail last year. More than I hit for sure. I’ve shot trap once. I realized I was shooting low. I want to hit the trap range a lot more frequently this year.

    Cheapest Non-Lead .22 LR

We have to use lead free ammo for hunting here. I’ve used the cci copper stuff and Winchester tin ammo. I’m not sure if you’re plinking or hunting with it, but I’ve shot a couple of squirrels with the copper cci ammo and haven’t really been impressed. I hit one that promptly dropped to a lower...

    Band of Brothers

I try to watch it and the pacific once a year. It makes me genuinely sad that the wwII boys are almost gone. Pretty soon kids will never have had the chance met someone who experienced the war.

    410's who shoots them ?

I have no idea why, but sometimes I feel an irking for a lever action .410. I don’t think I’ve ever seen steel shot and we can’t hunt with lead, but a lever action .410 would be so fun.

    Alone Season 10

I really do enjoy alone, but sometimes I feel a little guilty because most of the time it turns into who can starve the longest. I feel like the first few episodes are always the most bushcraft. Then people start starving and that’s the rest of the season.

    Law Enforcement on Public Lands

I knew that CA State Parks Ranger on the bottom when I worked as a park aid in college. Super nice guy. I asked rangers about the vests before and they said they are just easier on the back than carrying all the weight on the belt. State parks here has totally gotten away from the general...

    New From Northern California

Hey guys, I’m a newer hunter from Northern CA. I started hunting as an adult and spend most of my time small game and upland hunting. I’ve been trying to jump in to big game for a few years but my work schedule (teacher) and having a couple of kids the last few years has made it tough. Hoping to...
