    Hornady 7 PRC a Lie?

Yall are making me love my 7 rem mag even more. If your going to handload the old magnums are great cartridges, they've been watered down over the years in factory ammo and handholding brings back their full potential. There's no excuse for modern cartridges to not meet advertised specs. The...

    Leupold CDs technical question

I zero at 100 and then chrono my gun, and go use hornadys calculator to get the moa numbers for 150,200,250,300 etc. Then I take a fine tip silver sharpie and mark on top of the cds cap a line and a 1.5, line and a 2 and so on. This way it's custom and marked in yardages but can be redone if I...

    .17 HMR TNT vs. V-MAX

Possibly this is just an inherently accurate cartridge couple with high quality rifles makes a good combo

    .17 HMR TNT vs. V-MAX

My savage 93r17 will cut baseball cards in half around 50 yards it's so accurate

    .17 HMR TNT vs. V-MAX

If your staying with 17 grain, try the savage A17 load. It's 100+fps faster than all other 17 grain loads out there. You can also pick it up in a bulk box too

Coyotes what are they thinking and why

I know I'm no help in determining their thought processes. But to me if their coming in your property like this it's not worth figuring out. It's easier to eliminate the problem.

Coyotes what are they thinking and why

I'd set up a game camera to pinpoint their patterns and times. Then be waiting for them and kill them. Get a cheap IR camera that attaches to a regular scope, has a small screen to show what the camera sees, and a IR flashlight. Its the poor man's heat scope. And it most certainly works. And...

Who panics and presses that little orange button the most?

I haven't been lost yet, but onyx is very helpful. I could see how it would save you if you were lost. As long as you download the maps for offline use you don't need cell signal for the maps/GPS to work. I usually save a up close map of my hunting area for detail and a wide map in case I end up...

    Calibres you'd like to own

Ive had a 17 hmr for a long time. It can cut baseball cards in half at 50 yards reliably It's so accurate. Loved the savage 93r17 so I bought the same exact gun in 22 a few years later to shoot on the cheap. Just never got around to scoping the 17 back up till now. My 22 will keep a 1" mpbr (+/-...

    Calibres you'd like to own

I'm starting to get the itch for a 22-250 or 220 swift for a rifle I can shoot all varnits (coyotes to skunks) with that I can also take out and shoot affordably. Reloading of course. I'm scoping up my 17 hmr again currently. But an kinda pissed at current prices. 20 bucks for a box of 50...

    Berger Bullets

I watched a buddy shoot a whitetail once with a berger out of a 308. I just remember thinking dang you could put a watermelon in the hole in the side of her. It's those that made me realize an ELD-X is definitely a "tough enough" bullet. Somewhere between a berger and a solid copper bullet.

Spend my money on a chronograph

Nice, very nice. I get around 3200 out of my 7mm rem mag pushing 162s. I bet that 195 would be a hammer. If only remington made 700 CDLs in 28 nosler

Spend my money on a chronograph

For what its worth, my Caldwell is highly repeatable. Giving the exact same readings day to day or at different times. I got to do just that shooting my bow making tweaks for a few days setting it up. YMMV

Spend my money on a chronograph

No way you want the magneto! How are you going to check velocity on a snub nose revolver? Or your bows arrows? I use my chrono for handguns and my bow as well as rifles. A magnetic one simply would've been a waste of my money because I would've had to buy a second one anyhow. I use the standard...

    New Bow - Hoyt RX5

I went to a bowshop that had all the flagships from hoyt, Matthew's, and bowtech in stock and shooting them all told me much faster what I liked than reading hours of reviews on the internet

    New Bow - Hoyt RX5

So true. Once your at flagship level, they're all amazing bows. It's just a matter of what exact features you prefer and if you like the feel or look of one better.

    Insulation discussion

I wear long John's. Artic shield bibs. A milwaukee m12 hoodie. Then an artic shield parka. If I start to get cold at all I just unzip my parka a little, turn the hoodie on and enjoy being warm warm warm. Not very bulky either.
