I am currently researching this tent as well as the Seek Outside Guardian. What makes you want more space? How many hunters/gear/stove do you think the Rincon actually comfortably fits?
I'm assuming your talking about sleep liners, down clothing, booties, etc?? If so how much do those items realistically add to the overall temp rating of the system?
I've struggled with the same over the last couple years. Is backpack hunting vs. returning to base camp worth the squeeze???? Not sure but I know that I hate having to hike back to base camp some nights. I'm thinking from now on it I will use a combination of the two styles. Maybe others have...
The price tag is what is keeping me hesitant with the Feathered Friends. Heard nothing but good things though. I also don't have a clue the difference between the Snowbunting and Ibis or any of their other expensive bags.
I want to upgrade my sleeping bag to a nice down bag. I've researched quite a few options and it's getting to the point of information overload! If you have experience with any of these options please let me know pros/cons. Also any help in deciding if one is truly worth the additional cost over...
I just bought a pair, delivered today actually. Anyway they have a nice soft feel to them out of the package. I'll be wearing them around tomorrow but first impression is really nice. Much better/softer feel than some of the other knockoff cheaper merino underwear I have.
I bought some good Crispi boots last fall. When starting out I prioritized feet and sleeping...so those items I didn't skimp on. I have good quality merino and KUIU down layers and KUIU outer layers so you are probably right that the layers should get me by. I'll have to spend some time...
I am also new to Elk hunting (first trip last fall). I used an Alps Outdoorz Traverse EPS pack...its on the heavy side at close to 7 lbs empty but I had to make choices when getting started. I'm considering upgrading the pack right now or upgrading my rain gear. Which do ya'll view as more...
I rifle hunt but am still new to elk hunting. I got started last fall and will be going to Montana this year. I'm currently considering upgrading either my rain gear, or my backpack. Which would you consider to be more important to upgrade first? I might only be able to do one before the trip.
