Ha! I guess I got over exuberant on my first build and just wanted to see what my bow could max at. Why I decided to do it to 12 arrows... who knows?
The hunt didn't fall through. Was an ID elk hunt during which the elk didn't want to cooperate. Like I said, now that I've seen the max I did a...

Used tent in great shape. Stuff sacks have a few tears, but tent, poles, rainfly, and footprint have loads of miles and nights left in them.
I've spent maybe a dozen nights in this tent, including a backcountry elk hunt in Idaho. I'm 6'4, 250lbs and was very comfortable. I'd be keeping this...

Thanks for the input. I don't quite understand how I wouldn't be able to properly use my sights without it. Do you mean that I won't be able to see them well enough because of the string blocking my view (since it won't be split by the peep), or something else? It seems to me that I'll be able...
As my eyes get older things are getting a little softer around the edges visually. Because of this and past issues with it not turning correctly, getting out of position, etc., I'm thinking of getting rid of the peep sight all together. Anyone else who has made this transition, do you regret it...

Thanks for all the input! Seems the consensus is on pad and bag, which I kinda figured. So what brands and weights do people really like? I highly doubt I'll ever need it for extended sub-zero camp outs, but want to be prepared for anything from cool nights (40s-50s) to 20s and teens. I also...
I've been researching tents for hours on end in prep for future backpack hunts, but then realized I might be looking in the wrong place for optimal comfort at base camp (not up for bivying just yet), and I should really be worried about a high quality sleeping bag and pad.
Basically it seems to...
I bought a second-hand Kuiu 3200 Icon Pro last summer. I'm not sure what year it's from, but it's from before they changed the system to the snapping buckles from the harness to the pack. Aside from the sewn-on buckles breaking on the shoulder harness (detailed in this thread...
Quick epilogue if anyone is interested: I went ahead and ordered my Apex shoulder harness on Monday for full price and had them by Thursday. In the meantime, Kuiu started a sale that offered 50% off the Apex harnesses, so I contacted customer service again and they did a price adjustment and are...
Thanks again for all the insight with this, everyone. With the advice I got here I'm going to salvage this pack for $60 and some time re-learning how to set this thing up.I know the harness buckles shouldn't have broken either way, but I think it's a minimal cost to give the bag another go...
Thanks for the link, Scott85. I've watched that one a bunch of times. Maybe I'll just have to watch closer when he starts cinching the straps down to see if there was anything I did wrong when I packed it. I had practiced with sandbags before the trip and it was find, but never with as much as I...
