Oboz Wind River III, Size 12 Regular
I've been really digging these Oboz boots for the last year or so. I've tried them a while ago as an alternative to the Salomon Quest when the Quest failed me & leaked. I actually have the Wind Rivers II, III, and the Bridgers. Remind me a lot of the Quest...
Thanks. As someone looking to tag their first bull, I'm not too concerned about size. Just looking to have some opportunities. Hoping to have more run-ins with elk then people, ha.
Hi all, so we are still racking our brains and pouring over maps since drawing our WY gen elk tag. Still planning to head out mid -Sept for an archery hunt.
We have a few spots picked out in units 13 & 21. And a few spots picked out around units 67 & 68. Of course, one is north & one is...
Thanks for the replies. I've been doing more looking in the Snowies & the Madres. Unless OnX marks every little trail, I'm not seeing hardly any areas with more than a mile between them. Anyone familiar with the Snowies and/or the Madres & have looked at these areas in OnX who can offer a bit...
Hello. This fall will be my first time hunting elk in WY, on a general tag, pretty excited. I've been studying Insider, OnX, and Google Earth daily since the draw results. I have a few areas marked, but each one seems to have a slight draw back/concern. I was hoping I could bounce a few...
I only use a hinge. I started using a hinge about 8 years ago for my indoor & 3d archery. It became second nature, so I hunt with it too. In fact, going back to a trigger or thumb will make me start punching & flinching in a matter of time. A hinge can be 'cheated', so you can time your shot...
I've read that a few times, that the bulls don't come out of the wilderness until the snow pushes them out. That's also what has me second guessing unit 67. I'm from Dubuque County.
Thanks. Yeah, the wilderness law stinks, but there still arrears to be a fair amount of non-wilderness in 67. 68 & 83 doesn't have any. If you don't mind me asking, why was the wilderness a pain? Was it the lack of other real estate around it ? Or more that the elk like to hang in the...
I have a question, when using OnX, or even GoogleEarth, what 'zoom level' do you find most helpful to establish an initial area? I feel that is something I struggle with. As if maybe I'm too far zoomed out and focusing on areas way bigger than I can actually hunt, and therefore make me feel...
I've used a Badlands, Mystery Ranch, Kuiu Icon Pro, and now an Exo5500. I think I have found my preferred pack with the Exo. But really you can't go wrong with SG, Kifaru, Exo, Mystery Ranch, and maybe even a Kuiu. You just have to use what works for you.
I've owned a few Xpeditions. They make some nice bows. For the speed they put out, they draw is pretty smooth. And I agree, most of their bows are around 3.9 lbs...which is lighter than most aluminum bows on the market today.
Hello from Iowa. After a long time of hiding low and getting my Western fix from reading everyone's posts, I've decided it was time to finally join. I've been a member of other various western forums, not sure why it took so long to join. I'm like many I'm sure, I'm from the Midwest, but...
