More Load Development with the Remington UML
Decided to experiment a bit with my Remington UML to find a load that was legal for use in Montan's weapons restricted areas. To be honest, I haven’t really put It through the paces yet. Last summer kinda got away from me, so I found a load that held right around 2” at 100 yards and called it good. MT does not allow sabots, or anything other than “pure lead bullets” for muzzleloaders, so I may be more limited by...- LRx

Opinions on .338 Win Mag
I had a Ruger M77 in .338 and loved it so much I sold it to fund a custom built .338 on a ‘09 Argentine action. Love the cartridge; simply a fantastic elk round. However, I’ve killed elk with .270’s, .300 H&H’s, .338 WM, and a 35 Whelen; truth be told, I don’t think I could tell a nickel’s bit... -

Took the plunge and picked up a new Remington UML and topped it with a Vortex LH 1.5-8 with the G4 reticle. Found a friendly rancher in the valley and it didn’t take long for me to feel pretty good about my new investment! Now if I can only draw one of those premium UT or AZ muzzy elk tags!!!- LRx

Doesn’t necessarily have to be a “traditional” flintlock or percussion. Knight offers an ID compliant version of their Ultra Lite and Mountaineer. Either of those two would be awesome options that would give you more flexibility if you dicided to pursuit ML tags in any other western state that...- LRx
