i've shot Berger VLD'S out of 6.5x55,270 WSM, and the 30-06 with excellent results, accuracy and terminal performance on whitetail. On a recent elk hunt, a friend used the 168 VLD in his 7mm Rem mag and had excellent results on a nice bull. There are a lot of bullets out there that will do the...
I use canvas and it works well. I use gas(propane) heat and with just a little ventilation, no odor and efficient, heats the tent easily and is convenient to carry propane tanks instead of wood.
I just got back from a spring Grizzly hunt and the Marsupial bino harness was excellent ! My 10x42 Steiner Hx fit the small size perfectly and the factory Leupold range finder case attached to the harness worked fine. I wish the harness had a back web but the binoc case was great. Overall A rating !
It's a shame for sure, I agree with Randy and mtmuley. All i shoot are Remingtons and flat out refuse to hunt with a rifle made "some where else". As unfortunate as it is, maybe something good will come out of it, an investor that wants to bring back Remington to the front.
The Walker trigger was arguably the best factory trigger in a "mass" produced firearm......but a few " home gunsmiths" decided to adjust a few things followed by even more important safety practices and the less than disireable X-Mark trigger evolves. I would replace it with a Timney or Jewell...
Sweet Rifle/cartridge combo first off! I have a late 50's M721 Remington in the 300 H&H, and it likes Barnes 168 gr. TTSX getting pushed by 70.5 Gr. of RL19. I think it would work nicely in almost any situation. Great classic cartridge, the cartridge feeds like butter compared to the "new" big...
I plan on using the 225gr TTSX in my 338 WM. this spring on grizz hunt in Alaska. They penetrated 4+ feet of water at 100 yds and retained nearly 100% of their weight, Accuracy is very good as well, sub MOA.
6.5 Gibbs or 6.5PRC would be a nice fit in that action. 6.5 Gibbs formed from 270 Win. brass which is easily found or I believe there might even be a manufacturer now producing some. I was also part of two 6.5 Rem mags built on long actions to maximize case capacity that performed extremely...
Hi, just wanted to get started and introduce myself to everyone that seem to have the same addiction/passion as I do. Been enjoying the outdoors my whole life.....archery, rifle, fishing, camping, and always looking for a new adventure! I'm from central Pa. and have been fortunate to have been...
