I always had a hard time just using a harness when I was hunting from stands all the time. One incident in particular, ice and cold weather climbing a prehung set, had me reconsider my whole hunting method. Also my wife was about 6 mo pregnant with our first kid. I started using a saddle for the...
I'd look into a lease if youre dying to spend money on a hunt. Or you keep that 5k, invest that in time off work and put on some miles scouting public. in the process you just might bump into a fella that owns some ground at a gas station or a diner. we have some wonderful pieces of public in...
That's what I was hoping to hear. That extra money will be going towards my credit card bill if I draw a couple of the tags I applied for. Thanks for the help
Hey fellas, like many of you I'm redialing in my gear for the rockies this year. I've upgraded binos, went with Maven B2s 11x45s. I have an outdoorsman bino adapter on the way and have a camofire gem in a vanguard veo tripod and fluid head. I like the set up, but curious whether or not a upgrade...
Not sure where you are but the orange army comes in thick around me! Luckily I tagged one early and then another on Nov. 3. Now I'm just sipping coffee and hanging out with my daughter waiting for some snow to kill a couple of does
wyoming is pretty good to NR. antelope is a good intro to western hunting but once you see the mountains youre going to want to disappear in them for a week
Ive been having pretty good luck with my Prime this year. Already filled my two buck tags in IL, debating on grabbing a WI tag and hitting the public up there.
wllm1313. What size cooler do you generally use? I have an rtic 65 and a soft 30. Last year I was able to fit in one and half quartered out whitetails in it. I could have done more, but didn't want to skimp on the ice. I'm sure I'll be fine but just want to make sure
Thanks for the help. I was debating between which size but it makes more sense to go with the elk size bag. Looks like I'm going back to checking camofire every morning
Good evening fellas,
Im newer to the forum, and drew an easy to get Wyoming rifle tag this year. Looking at the maps of my unit, I have found some pretty good chunks of public ground a few miles from public road. If I were to nut up and pay an outfitter or trespassing fee I would have a much...
it depends on how much rainfall your location has gotten, but my guess is that a 10 year old burn is going to have some thick nasty undergrowth. have you watched any on randys videos on e-scounting? be goes into detail pretty heavily on reading burns.
the further from the trail the better off...
New to this forum and really enjoying it so far fellas.
I helped my brother skin and chop up a late season whitetail doe earlier today. In return I got a couple nice cuts of meat and I also took some bone in ribs. I'm planning on smoking them with the 3-2-1 method around 220degF and lathering...
Northern MO has some pretty good opportunities. Under $300 and I went into a chunk of public ground with an either sex, anterless, and 2 turkey tags. Havent been there in 4 years, but we went for the early season opener. Saw some decent deer, but not much for solid age structure. From what im...
