I'm debating on getting a different pair of boots for my upcoming dall sheep hunt this August. In the past I've used Koflach plastic boots. Pros. Liner can be used a camp boot, river crossings with glacier socks between boot liner and plastic boot, protection against rock bruises, stiff to...
Well I think that's the first negative comment that I've heard other than the price. But it's slightly off topic. Trying to view the gun as a whole and not just the barrel.
I've recently called proof and talked with them for almost 30 min. They actually gave me a name and number of hunting...
Great to know that you are happy with the defiance action and proof barrel. I took a few minutes and checked out the three rifle companies that you suggested. Couldn't find too much info on Fosnaugh... they have a pretty shitty website and couldn't even find examples of rifles they build...
Well I'm still undecided. I live in Alaska and currently use a 300 win mag. I leaning towards having it chambered in 28 nosler or 300wsm. I don't want more recoil than what I have now. Actually I would prefer less recoil. That being said this new rifle would weigh less than my current...
Yikes is right. However, I've spent more than that on random rifles over the years that don't check all the boxes of my needs and wants. Soooo my plan is to sell those old rifles that are collecting dust in the back of my gun safe and upgrade.
A friend of mine once told me this. He is a very...
I've lived and hunted in Alaska for the last 8 years. I have never taken a pistol or spray while hunting with a rifle. If I'm out hiking for fun I take spray.
This is a place to speculate/start rumors on what Randy's new rifle will be since the Alpine Mountian Rifle is discontinued. Randy has mentioned in other posts that he with be getting a new prototype rifle with 26'' barrel and it will be lighter than expected.
I bet that it's still a short...
Agree with all the above. The long action would of been a plus. But Id love to see the barreled action with cerakote available. Then you could drop it in a McMillion Edge stock or whatever you'd like.
Time to call around and see of any of the gun shops in town have access to an Apline...
Yeah I'm pretty bummed the Alpine Mountain Rifle didn't make the cut. Not Cool. So is Randy going to get a new gun to promote? I didn't find any rifle under 7lbs that wasn't a mini action rifle.
Randy has said over and over that his rifle can outperform his shooting and I believe him (no offense). I've seen Randy's target pictures. Was just hoping others had pictures too.
